What is the best fishing knot for braid to lure?

Just got some braid (20lb), and want to go fishing tonight.
I have been using mono in the past, either improved clinch knot or improved trilene knot, but I read somewhere that braid may need different knots.
Would this still be OK, or do I need to tie another knot?

Don’t worry about it too much, you’ll read a lot of that kinda crap everywhere. Different people have different feelings about the different knots to use for braid. Some will say use this one, others will say to use that one…

…it doesn’t really matter, a knot’s a knot. Braid holds fairly well compared to fluorocarbon.

Before I switched back to mono from braid, I would use the Clinch knot and the Palomar knot. It held just as well as monofilament. I dunno who Charlie was talking about, but I’m one one of those that adds a drop of super glue onto the knot just a little extra security.

Does anyone know any quick, strong, easy fishing knots?

i need to know how to set up the bobber on the fishing rod stick. i heard there are knots for the bobber, but do i have to tie the knots at both ends of the bobber? also, are there other ways to put on the bobber?
The best thing is to use the bobbers that clip on your line. No knots required. As you get more experience you can go to a slip cork which is a little more complicated but still easy to use. Fishing Knots for Braided or Twisted Lines?

Hi!

I’m trying to set up a couple rigs for fishing with braided and twisted lines, I was going to use an Improved Clinch Knot like I do with most fishing lines, but I heard that for some reason It wasn’t recommended for the Braided and Twisted types. Why could that knot cause a problem, and could anyone give me the names of some knots that would work well and look good?

Depending on which brand braided line you use, improved clinch and clinch knot could slip. With certain lines, even snell knot and uni knot could slip.

Palomar knot is easy to tie and it will work well with braided lines. Again, with certain lines, you want to use a double palomar knot just to be safe.

Braid knot was designed especially for braided lines.

Uni knot is safe with all braided lines ONLY if you are connecting braid lines to mono or copolymer lines.

PS: Fireline is among one of those "certain lines".
