I use and highly recommend the Palomar knot. It is quick and easy to tie and retains the highest line/knot strength that I know of. Look it up on Google to see how easy it is to learn and to tie. Good luck and good fishing.

there are so many good knots,it’s a matter of personal preference,I use an improved clinch knot myself, but you have to find the one that;s comfortable to you to remember how to tie consistently good that’s important.Go to animated knots by grog to see all kinds of knots and step by step how to tie them.

The Mahseer knot I find is the best to use for eyed hooks + swivels

This knot is seriously strong, and originally used for catching these beasties in very fast & rocky Indian rivers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahseer
to connect pieces of line together without using a swivel, the Surgeon’s knot / 4-turn water knot
