I don’t actually use fluorocarbon for fishing top water lures or in-fact flies, that’s simply because it sinks, its 3x heavier than water and find that it affects the performance of the top water baits, you will still catch if you use it just i prefer not to, if your using deep diving crank-baits etc then yes i use it all the time, if your fishing top water lures i like to use a quality co-polymer like sufix.

i’d say any line made by stren, and whatever lb test is good for your situation.
stren has an oily gloss on it that makes the line running on the top of the water look like a natural oil, that has made its way off another fish, or off a boat, which the fish are completely used to…
HOPE I HELPED

Flourocarbon line. With todays flourocarbon (trilene, berkley etc) you can still have all the great action and on the plus side, your bait will look more natural.

I like Mono because it has more stretch and, I have trouble waiting to set the hook. the extra stretch, gives Me just a little more margin of error. I usually use 17lb. Stren Super Tough.
